Welcome! I’m Sherri Miller, and I’m so happy you’re here! I am a former second and third grade teacher turned technology specialist. My current passion lies in developing educational resources and ideas for elementary teachers, designed to streamline their work and save them valuable time!
My Teachers Pay Teachers store, Sherri Miller, The Techie Chick, hosts the resources I have created for elementary teachers like you. You can also find me on Etsy!
I am married to the love of my life and biggest supporter, Doug! We have raised a daughter and a son and have eight precious grandchildren who are the lights of our eyes.
When I’m not creating resources, I love spending time with family, painting or crafting, creating home decor, and reading. We love living in southeastern Virginia where we are a short drive to the beach for relaxing (our favorite place to be) and close to the mountains for hiking!

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from the University of Mary Washington. Following my initial post-graduation experiences in different fields, I realized my passion for teaching and made the decision to return to school.
My teaching journey began in 1995 in a private school teaching fourth and second grades. Right away I realized I loved teaching! A few years later, I moved to public school, where I had the opportunity to teach both second and third grades. I found I had a passion for integrating technology into my lessons and my principal noticed! She asked me to join a “train the trainer” program aimed at assisting fellow teachers in utilizing technology, and my interest in coaching began.
In 2005, the Virginia DOE implemented a program for technology integration, and I became one of the first Instructional Technology Resource Teachers. I loved being able to coach and model technology integration for the elementary teachers in our school division!
During this time, I decided to become an expert in my field, and I returned to school once again. This time, I graduated from Virginia Tech with a masters in Curriculum and Instruction, emphasizing Instructional Technology.
In 2013, I started my Teacher Pay Teacher store, Sherri Miller. I focus my resources on technology integration for grades 2 through 5. You can check my latest additions here.

Teaching is about finding the right tools to help students solve problems, think critically, and show growth in their learning. Sometimes that means finding multiple tools or methods to reach all the students in your class.
As a technology specialist, often teachers think I want them to only use technology in their classrooms. It’s true that I value the tools technology can provide, but it’s just one tool in the toolbox.
Whether it’s digital resources, interactive technology, hands-on materials, or a combination of these resources, the goal is to create an environment where learners can engage, explore, and grasp concepts effectively.
I strive to create resources that students find engaging and promote critical thinking and problem solving skills. I also hope to save teachers time and provide them with resources, tips and ideas to make their teaching lives easier.
